♦ I attended the University of Sassari, Italy, where I received my M.S. degree (summa cum laude) in Agricultural Science & Technology in March 2003.
♦ After graduating, I went to the University of Milan, at the Food Packaging Lab led by Prof. L. Piergiovanni. There, I did my studies within my PhD in Food and Microbial Biotechnology, granted by the University of Sassari (November 2003 – November 2006).
♦ Upon finishing my doctorate, I joined the group of Professor K.L. Yam at Rutgers University, US, as a post-doctoral fellow (April 2007 – May 2008).
♦ Since June 2008 I am a post-doctoral associate in the Department of Food, Environmental and Nutritional Sciences (DeFENS) at the University of Milan – Packaging Lab.
♦ From March 2011 to Spetember 2011 I have joined the group of Professor M. Hedenqvist as a visiting scientist at KTH – the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm (SWEDEN), in the Department of Fibre and Polymer Technology – Polymeric Materials Division.
♦ From December 2013 to December 2017 I have been appointed as Assistant Professor (3-year contract) at the Department of Food, Environmental and Nutritional Sciences (DeFENS) – University of Milan.
♦ From March 2017 to February 2020 I have been appointed as tenure-track Assistant Professor at the Department of Food, Environmental and Nutritional Sciences (DeFENS) – University of Milan.
♦ From March 2020 to December 2020 I have been appointed as Associate Professor at the Department of Food, Environmental and Nutritional Sciences (DeFENS) – University of Milan.
♦ Effective January 2021 I have been appointed as Full Professor at the Department of Food, Environmental and Nutritional Sciences (DeFENS) – University of Milan, where I am involved in research and teaching activities in Food Packaging and Nanotechnology in the food sector.
